Kuulei `Ukulele
A Father – Daughter Craft
A Handmade Legacy of Skill and Beauty
At Kuulei `Ukulele, every `ukulele is expertly handcrafted
and delicately cared for…as a garland of flowers.
Led by a father-daughter team, the company’s 37 year commitment and
devotion to flawless craftsmanship has resulted in musical instruments of
superb quality, sound and appearance.
In Hawaiian, Kuulei means “My Garland of Flowers” or “My Beloved” which
carries a deep, intimate and emotional connection of cherished affection or term
of endearment. With skill, expertise and attention to detail,
we at Kuulei `Ukulele craft our instruments to become enduring, delicate
treasures, while recognizing the cultural significance of flower leis
in the Hawaiian tradition of love, respect and celebration.
From the selection of resonant tonewoods to the final outcome,
our process is artful --- patient, caring and personal. The shared knowledge
between a father’s expertise and a daughter’s vision fuses to create a harmony
that allows for greater customizations and attention to detail; ensuring a joyful
experience with the general sense of owning something fondly treasured as Hawaiian.
With family tradition and two experienced lifetimes of crafting,
our skill, care and expertise flow through every curve, opening and fret;
resulting in an instrument of unmatched quality, warmth and feel.
